Gamayun

This is Gamayun, another of the legendary birds of Russian mythology.

Gamayun is known everywhere as the "prophet bird" because she is the messenger of the gods. Some customs stop at that, but others hold that she is the firebird. These people say that her feathers are golden and that none can see her in her full glory or they would burn their eyes out. She is the closest of all the birds to humans because she is the messenger that relates the gods will to them.

She represents the inner drive of humans towards divinity.
