A high res version of my game's logo-- and an official announcement of the title!
The name, "Crimson Rue" is one I actually came up with for a cafe in a tabletop game I played a while back. (Golden Sky Stories)
I was really proud of the name and with a recommendation from Vlad, I decided to use it!
The name, "Crimson Rue" comes from a myth surrounding the slavic holiday, Ivana Kupala, wherein young couples go out into the forest to search for a mythical plant called the fern flower.
It is said that the one who finds it gains amazing powers, such as the ability to talk to animals, great riches, or a single wish. (The exact reward varies from region to region.) It is also associated with fertility and finding true love. All of these themes seemed perfect for a game about herbalism and relationships!
The reason it is called "Crimson Rue" specifically is because the Rue flower is said to look similar to a flowering fern, even to the point where some legends state that the fern flower is a special Rue which glows red only for Ivana Kupala.
This is my first draft of a game logo. I originally wanted to do something more colorful, like embellishing the letters with vibrant green ferns and having a single blooming red flower... But I wasn't able to get a design that I was satisfied with.
Instead, I opted to make the logo look more like a shop sign, which was more achievable. I may try something else again down the line, but for now I think this is a good placeholder.
